Governance — Built From the Ground Up
The objective is to renew Yorkshire with its own constitution, laws, and budget — shaped by the people, starting at neighbourhood level.
This isn’t politics-as-usual. It’s about People Sovereignty — real power in the hands of communities, not just officials. Local councils and regional mayors would work together under a Yorkshire-wide authority — either a single Mayor or a directly elected Assembly.
As part of a Federal England , we’d get a proper voice on national issues — like transport, climate, and the future we’re all living into.
And that future must include the land itself. Yorkshire’s rivers, moors, coastlines and wildlife are part of our shared inheritance. Governance that ignores ecological needs isn’t fit for purpose.
This is grassroots participation in action — ordinary people shaping the rules, not just following them.
It’s about belonging. About designing a regional constitution that reflects us — our hopes, our struggles, our ideas. Built by us, for the next generation. If you want to help shape it. drop your thoughts in the comments and join us at as many of our events as you can.
